October 1–4 | 4 Days / 3 Nights
Experience the power and beauty of prairie migration on this short-but-spectacular fall birding adventure.
Day 1: Arrival in Saskatoon + Welcome Dinner
Arrive in Saskatoon by late afternoon. We’ll gather for a relaxed welcome dinner to meet the group, review the game plan, and get set for the incredible migration ahead.
Day 2–3: Goose Fields, Cranes & Owl Banding
We’ll spend two full days exploring the open fields and sloughs around Saskatoon, scanning skies and harvested fields for: Whooping Cranes, Tens of thousands of migrating Snow Geese, Canada and Cackling Geese, Sandhill Cranes, raptors and more.
One evening, we’ll take part in an unforgettable owl banding experience—getting up close with Northern Saw-whet Owls, and with luck, Long-eared Owls.
Expect golden prairie light, powerful flocks in motion, and the unique hush of fall migration in the heart of the Canadian plains.
Day 4: Final Morning + Departures from Saskatoon
We’ll enjoy a final morning birding session or relaxed breakfast before heading back to Saskatoon for afternoon departures.
